This ground school will prepare you for the Instrument Rating written test. If interested in attending please put your name down on the list in the office or email us at:
The IFR school will take place over 10 evenings - one per week - starting at 7pm. Do come and talk to Tristan Duplan about the course, including discussing books and materials you may need. The school teaches you the information you will need not just to pass pass the knowledge test but also to fly safely in the instrument environment. Some homework, in the form of extra reading is required. The timetable and curriculum are shown below.
Cost is $200.00 for the complete course. Block members are eligible for 10% credit on our usual terms. Materials not included.
We can sell you the texts you need. If you have all of your old books from your private pilot training, such as Aviation Weather Services and a current FAR/AIM , then you can get by with just two new textbooks: Gleim's Instrument Flight Maneuvers and Practical Test Prep ($19.95) and Gleim's Instrument Pilot FAA Knowledge Test book ($19.95). If you seek the most complete package, we can offer you the Gleim Instrument Pilot Kit (with the FAA test prep software) for $124.95, all taxes included. The books or kit can also be paid from a current block account for an additional 10% credit towards the cost.
EAA members save $5 off the cost of their knowledge test at Lasergrade. For details see: http://www.lasergrade.com/EAA.shtml
Licensed pilots who want a refresher are welcome.
